On 7th December 2024, The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM), Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia (UiTM) and Dow Malaysia are collaborating to organize the inaugural 5KM Eco-Run for Inclusion in support of NASOM Teluk Pulai Centre’s new playground made of recycled shoe materials and sustainable (water-based & solvent-free) solutions.
The objectives of the Eco-Run are to create awareness for autism community and to support circularity by showing that shoe waste can be converted as raw materials for infrastructure builds.
Eco-Run for Inclusion combines the goals of promoting inclusivity with environmental sustainability.
Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community and togetherness.
Autism Awareness: Raise awareness and support for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) community.
Sustainability: Support NASOM Teluk Pulai’s initiative for a playground made from recycled shoes and sustainable materials.

Date: 7th December 2024 (Saturday)
Time: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Venue: Padang Kawad, UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia
Format: A 5KM non-competitive run suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

The organizers hope to raise at least RM 51,000 from the Eco-Run ticket sales and at least RM 17,000 from direct donations and sponsorship. We hope to receive your generous support so that the autistic children at NASOM Teluk Pulai Center can have a brand-new safe playground to play on.
